The Student Support Services program provides opportunities for students to successfully complete their postsecondary education. The goal is to increase the retention and graduation rates of Suffolk County Community College students and ease the process of transition from one level of higher education to the next.
Goals and Outcomes:
The students in Student Support Services will fulfill all the degree requirements in order to graduate from Suffolk County Community College.
Students will achieve proficiency in basic academic skills which will assist them in favorably completing their courses.
Students will learn how to navigate scheduling, financial aid, registrar and other college systems.
Students will be able to build successful post graduate careers
Students will be able to successfully navigate the social and cultural environments in which they learn work and develop individuals .
Students will acquire academic and life skills through work-shops, information sessions, presentations, and advisement offered by the SSS faculty and staff .
Continuously support year to year retention and completion of an associate's degree at Suffolk County Community College.
Staff will continuously promote student success, access and affordability for students that are from underrepresented populations .
Faculty and staff will systematically contribute to the goals of the institution.
