Early Childhood AS Assessment

Mission and Program Learning Outcomes

The mission of the Early Childhood A.S. degree program is to provide students interested in careers working with young children with a high quality background of theoretical knowledge, skills training, developmentally appropriate practice, professional ethics, and practical experience. To that end, program faculty focus their efforts on delivering a rigorous academic and pedagogical curriculum that prepares students to successfully (1) transfer to a four year education program leading to a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or Childhood Education teacher certification, and/or (2) attain New York State Teacher Assistant Certification.
