Communications and Media Arts: Journalism AA Assessment

Mission and Program Learning Outcomes

The mission of the Communications and Media Arts: Journalism A.A. degree program is to prepare students for transfer to baccalaureate programs in journalism or a related field. The administration, faculty and staff are committed to maintaining a strong curriculum composed of a good balance in the liberal arts, general education, and principles and practices of contemporary journalism. They provide sound academic and professional advisement and support, and practical, hands-on experiences that prepare students to compete successfully for entry-level positions in the industry, that inspire and encourage them to become lifelong learners, and that ultimately make them participating and productive members of society.
