Fitness Specialist AS Assessment
Mission and Program Learning Outcomes
The mission of the Fitness Specialist A.S. program is to prepare students for transfer to four-year degree programs by providing a curriculum that integrates the principles of exercise physiology, kinesiology, nutrition, anatomy, leadership, conditioning concepts, and psychology. The faculty is committed to teaching students to effectively apply their knowledge and skills to enhance the health, fitness, sport performance and overall quality of life for the general population in commercial, community (schools), clinical and corporate workplace settings. In addition, the Fitness Specialist Program faculty is committed to promoting wellness within the larger College community.
