The College Distance Learning Committee shall advise the Vice President for Academic and Campus Affairs on the development and implementation of distance education at the College. The Committee shall consider and make recommendations on academic policy matters, program development, academic and technical support services, and professional development for the four distance education mediums; telecourses, interactive video courses (synchronous), web-based courses (asynchronous), and blended/hybrid courses. Within that broad context, the Committee shall:
- work with the Deans of Faculty and the Associate Deans of the Schools to promote the development of distance education courses and to assure that their content and design are appropriate to the medium,
- develop and recommend policies and procedures that provide technical and academic support to ensure distance learner success,
- develop and recommend policies and procedures that provide technical and professional support for faculty who elect to teach distance education courses,
- develop and recommend standards of proficiency that will be required of whomever wishes to teach a distance learning course,
- develop outcomes assessment measures that describe and evaluate the success of the distance education program and provide the data on which future recommendations can be made,
- periodically review facilities and equipment needs and make appropriate recommendations,
The membership of the Committee shall consist of the following:

- A representative from the Deans of Faculty
- A representative from the Associate Deans of the Schools
- Associate Dean for College Instructional Technology
- Associate Dean for the Division of Library and Learning Resources
- Faculty Coordinator for Instructional Development
- Media Librarian
- 3 Campus Instructional Technology Administrators, Co-Chairs
- Director of Continuing Education
- Counselor
- Distance Education MID Specialist I
- Distance Education Support Services Specialist I
- A representative from the TLC Coordinators
- 9 Faculty engaged in, or interested in, teaching through a distance education medium (3 per campus recommended by Campus Dean of Faculty)
