SCCC encourages its faculty to continue their
professional growth by attendance and participation in faculty development efforts. SCCC
maintains a calendar
of such events. This page showcases faculty development activities promoting technology in
instruction.
- AACC -
American Association of Community Colleges' national conference is in April.
- AACE - Association for the
Advancement of Computers in Education: M/SET & SITE conferences are in February;
ED-MEDIA conference is in June; WebNet conference is in October; and ICCE conference is in
November.
- AAHE - American
Association of Higher Education - National Conference is in March & Assessment
Conference is in June.
- ALN - Asynchronous Learning Networks
offers an October/November conference on distance education. Moreover, they offer
online workshops for the development of asynchronous courses
- ASSET - Association of
administrators and supervisors responsible for computer services and other educational
technologies in public school districts within Suffolk County - annual conference in
March.
