The Associate Dean for College Instructional Technology
reports to the Executive
[Dean for Curriculum and Instruction] and has a primary responsibility to provide
leadership and coordination in the use of technology in the teaching and learning units of
the college. Specific responsibilities include:
- Provides leadership for the implementation of technology-related strategic initiatives
in the operations of the college.
- Reviews and evaluates campus instructional technology plans, associated budgets, and
related position descriptions to ensure college-wide consistency and efficient use of
resources.
- Collaborates with campus-based personnel in arranging workshops and training sessions
for faculty in the use of instructional technology.
- Serves on the College Computing Council and on other instructional/technology-based
committees as a resource person.
- Develops draft procedures, policies, specifications, etc. designed to ensure a strong
and cohesive system-wide use of instructional technology.
- Assists in securing grant funding sources and in arranging partnering agreements with
private sector enterprises actively engaged in contemporary technological matters.
- Provides direct assistance to campus instructional personnel in all areas related to the
acquisition, use, maintenance and experimentation with instructional technology.
- Provides leadership and technical support in the use of distance learning methodology.
- Performs such other related tasks as may be assigned by the Executive
[Dean for Curriculum and Instruction].
