ACC Policy
Our policy for student access is very generous. Your cooperation will ensure that everyone needing access will have it. All students, staff and faculty not on duty in the lab or involved in a scheduled class must sign in and out with their SCCC I.D. card. Occasionally one of our rooms will be closed for a class or lecture. We remind you to moderate your voices and laughter; cell phone calls should be taken into the hallway. Food and drink are not permitted at any time.
Remember this is an academic environment. Use is on a first-come-first-serve basis. Priority is given to students working on school related projects. The ACC reserves the right to move or remove a user not engaged in schoolwork.
Printing is limited to 8 pages of academic work. If you need to print more, see a Staff member. Printing of class notes, study guides, power point outlines, image galleries, and the like will not be permitted. Changing system settings, bookmarks, adding of favorites, and downloading files to the hard drive is not permitted. Files must be downloaded and saved to removable media.
Prohibited activities:
1. Hacking the system. Honestly, if you’re good enough to hack the server here and the UNIX boxes, MIT needs you.
2. Running .exe files.
3. Placing your own software on a computer.
4. Changing the background image.
5. Changing the default homepage on the browsers.
6. Pirating software.
7. Sending threatening, obscene, libelous, or offensive messages.
8. Using this facility for personal profit or business.
9. Viewing pornographic sites.
Students who do not comply with the requirements set forth are subject to ejection from the ACC and could be in violation of the
Student Code of Conduct.
Complaints concerning student use will be referred to the Campus Dean of Students for further action. Such 'action' is decribed
here.
