BNL is located on Long Island in Upton, just off the William Floyd Parkway and a few miles north of the Long Island Expressway. The lab is an important source of internships, summer programs, and jobs for our CSEMS students. | |||
| Computer Associates |
CA, located in Islandia, with main headquarters on the north side of the Long Island Expressway, is one of the main employers on the Island for the technical professions and an important source of internships and jobs in computer science, engineering analysis, and information technology. | |||
| Northrup Grumman |
Northrup Grumman is located in Bethpage, where they do design and development of high tech military systems. In recent years they have had a difficult time finding the expertise they need in software development and engineering analysis. | |||
| Long Island Colleges and Universities | ||||
| State University of New York at Stony Brook |
Stony Brook is the premier technical university on Long Island with excellent math, computer science, and engineering programs. Suffolk has articulation agreements with Stony Brook that make it particularly easy for solid students to transfer there. | |||
| Hofstra University |
Hofstra is a private institution located in Nassau County, not far from Roosevelt Field. The university offers complete high quality programs in all areas of science, engineering, and technology. | |||
| Dowling College |
Dowling is located in Oakdale, not far from our Ammerman Campus, and is very welcoming to our students. The college offers four-year programs in math and computer science. | |||
| Saint Joseph's College |
Saint Joseph's in Patchogue offers programs in information technology. This college is geared primarily for preparation of public school teachers and is ideal for math majors seeking to complete New York State Certification. | |||
| Polytechnic University |
Polytechnic University, formerly Brooklyn Poly, maintains its main campus in Brooklyn, and is an excellent technical university with solid math, computer science, and engineering programs. Our best students have a good chance at significant financial aid at Poly. However, the Long Island campus, located in Farmingdale, offers graduate study only. | |||
| New York Institute of Technology |
NYIT has a main campus in Old Westbury, just north of the expressway, and specializes in many technical/professional programs. | |||
| C.W. Post |
Long Island University, C. W. Post College is located on Route 25A in Brookville. It has a College of Information and Computer Science and a solid math department. | |||
