Academic Requirements

To Graduate with an Honors degree:

A student must take a minimum of six – eight Honors classes that satisfy program distribution requirements. The minimum distribution is as follows:

Honors Core Classes

• Humanities – one 4 credit course

• Social Science – one 4 credit core
• Math or Science – one 4 credit core
• Elective – one 4 credit core
  
  Honors Supplemental Classes

• Two to four classes selected from any 3 credit Honors courses.
  
  A grade point average of 3.2 in Honors classes and a 3.0 overall GPA must be maintained.
  
  
  To graduate with an Honors Certificate of Recognition:
  
  This option is primarily offered for students who are currently enrolled at Suffolk but do not have enough space in their schedules for full Honors participation.
  
  To receive an Honors Certificate of Recognition a student must take a minimum of four Honors classes (two cores and two supplementals). A 3.2 GPA in Honors as well as a 3.0 overall is required.
