Choosing a Periodical Index |
|||||||||||||||
Periodical indexes are used to help you find articles. Within our library, indexes come in two varieties, print-based and online. Print Indexes usually allow you to search for articles by author or subject, one month or year at a time. Online journal databases allow you to search by author, subject, and keyword. You can search the entire timeline of the collection, i.e., 1980-2002. Keywords are words that can appear anywhere in the article, including: the author(s) name, the title of the article , the name of the journal, the citation, the abstract, or anywhere within the text of the article (if the database includes the full text). |
