 The Internet & the World Wide Web

The Internet, which stands for interconnected network of networks, is a worldwide network of computers that connects millions of businesses, schools, research foundations, organizations, and individuals.  The World Wide Web is a system for accessing the Internet which allows you to find information in a multimedia format (text, graphics, sound, and video) and to link easily to various Internet sites.  Most people use the terms "the Internet," "the Net,"  "the Web," and "the WWW" interchangeably.
