Student Support Services

The Student Support Services program enhances opportunities for students to successfully complete their college education. Through the development and implementation of a personal support plan, students receive assistance in identifying their educational goals and learning needs, as well as individual academic and financial advisement and tutoring.

Services Offered

Specific services offered include the following:

• One-on-one assistance with academic needs
• Academic Coaching
• Instruction in basic study skills
• Tutorial services
• Assistance in applying for and maintaining financial aid eligibility
• Information about career and transfer opportunities
• Registration priority
• Peer mentoring
• Referral to campus resources
• Workshops and Informational sessions

Eligibility

Applications to the Student Support Services (SSS) program will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis. Students must be in their first semester in the fall and full time (12 or more credits) in order to be considered. The program acceptance deadline is October 25th of each year. Please note that we are unable to accept students in the spring. Therefore, interested students should apply as early as possible. Students must meet at least one of the following criteria:

• first generation college student
  (i.e., neither parent has graduated from college with a four-year degree.);

• low income
  (see TRIO Low Income Guidelines);

• have a documented disability
