ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (ATI TEAS) Questions and Answers

The ATI TEAS is a Test of Essential Academic Skills that measures students basic or entry-level program readiness in the major content areas of Reading, Mathematics, Science and English/Language usage. The ATI TEAS score report will identify students overall academic preparedness necessary to support learning of nursing course content.
When you are ready to apply to the nursing program. We have a limited number of seats for the ATI TEAS. You must register on-line at 48 hours prior to the exam. It is recommended that you book your exam at least 2 months in advance of the application deadline as seats fill quickly.
Applicants must complete the application for admission by the application deadline. The Office of Central Admission must receive the ATI TEAS score report by the application deadline.
You can take the ATI TEAS at Suffolk County Community College. Specific dates and locations will be posted on the ATI website and Suffolk County Community College School of Nursing website. Please check both websites frequently, for dates, times and location.

Create an account. Be sure to list Suffolk CC Ammerman, Grant or Riverhead as your institution.
When creating an account you will be asked to enter the Student/Employee ID your institution has given you. Use your SCCC ID#. If you do not have a SCCC ID# enter your date of birth as 8 digits: mm/dd/yyyy (include back slashes) It is critical that your date of birth is accurate for application processing.

You cannot register directly at any campus.
Once you register and pay for the ATI TEAS test, the fee is not refundable if you change the appointment date or location.
Walk-ins are not accepted.
Students are required to pre-pay the $70.00 when registering for the ATI TEAS test. Bring a copy of your receipt with you when you go to the testing site. All costs are subject to change without notice.

Required at time of the test:

  • Valid Photo ID (SCCC ID card, driver’s license and /or passport), ATI testing ID number and your ATI TEAS testing registration receipt.
  • Bring 2 or more #2 pencils.
  • Personal calculators and cell phones are prohibited while testing.
  • Scratch paper will be provided by the testing center.
The exam is 210 minutes (3 and half hours) long with 170 multiple choice questions.
You should arrive one half hour prior to the start of the test.
Test results will be available on line at within 24 hours after completing the exam. You must use your username/password. If you have any questions retrieving your test scores, contact ATI at the number listed on their web site.
Test scores will be valid for admission consideration, for one year prior to the application deadline.
You can repeat the ATI TEAS once within the year and the results of the 2nd attempt will be the valid test score considered with your application.
You must pay each time you take the ATI TEAS test.
If you are applying/reapplying and/or your scores on the ATI TEAS exam do not meet the required minimums, then we strongly encourage you to:
  • Log into and review your ATI TEAS individual performance profile.
  • Closely examine your "topics to review" individualized report.
  • Review the ATI TEAS Focused Review available on the "my results" tab at to work on areas identified.
  • Attend campus Academic Success Center for assistance/tutoring in Writing and Mathematics.
Then re-test.
At no time will scores be combined from different tests. Test scores will be valid for one academic year and the 2nd attempt will be the valid test score.
  • At this time, SCCC will accept the ATI TEAS taken at another testing site if it was taken within the academic year of applying to the nursing program. It is your responsibility to request a copy of your test results to be sent to SCCC. On the ATI website, choose "SCCC-ATI TEAS" as the institution where you want your results sent.
  • There will be a $27.00 fee from ATI to send a copy.
  • Your nursing program application will not be processed without your testing scores from the ATI TEAS Test.
Scores that do not come directly from ATI will not be accepted.
You must submit documentation of your disability as well as the need for accommodations, at least two weeks prior to your desired testing date. You must submit this paperwork to the Disability Services counselors at your home campus. The Office of Disability Services will then direct you through the registration process.
