60 Hour Entrepreneurial Training Course

Suffolk County Community College has been awarded a grant from the Empire State Development Corporation to establish an Entrepreneurial Assistance Program. The grant provides for the development and implementation of a business training program. 

The Entrepreneurial Assistance Program offers entrepreneurial training courses as well as technical and management seminars to those who are interested in starting or expanding their own businesses. Special efforts are made to recruit and select minorities, women, dislocated workers, and persons with disabilities.

This ten(10)-week program is designed for client entrepreneurs to interact in sixty (60) hours of business courses and seminars. Each class is three (3) hours in duration.  The training provides fundamental planning concepts and tools to help ensure the success of business launches and expansions.

The training course will cover the following topics:

  • Principles of Entrepreneurship
  • Development of a Business Plan
  • Product Development and Marketing
  • Accounting and Bookkeeping Methods
  • Operations and Management
  • Financial Management and Budgeting
  • Legal Considerations for Your Business
  • Funding Options for Your Business
  • Taxes, and More!

How to Register

When: The next course starts :

  • February 26, 2024 online Monday and Wednesday 6-9pm.
  • February 27, 2024 online in Spanish, Tuesday and Thursday 6-9pm.

Cost: Tuition is $0.00, includes textbooks and materials.
