Mission and Program Learning Outcomes

The Graphic Design program provides a broad educational foundation in the arts and sciences to prepare students to serve as creative, analytical, and innovative, visual problem-solvers in the fields associated with communication art. The intensive interdisciplinary coursework emphasizes the acquisition of skills in aesthetic organization of information, research, conceptualizing, collaboration, production, and technical application, as well as practical knowledge to perform within a professional environment. Although career preparation is the primary goal of this program, it also provides a solid foundation in the graphic design courses as a basis for transfer to other institutions.
