Suffolk County Community College recently hosted a press conference to highlight its expanded participation in SUNY's Advancing Success in Associate Pathways (ASAP) program, a transformative program aimed at removing barriers to degree completion and increasing student success. The event highlighted the comprehensive support provided through ASAP to students, which includes financial assistance, personalized academic advising, career development, and community-building activities designed to help students overcome obstacles to timely graduation.
Faculty, administrators, staff and current students at Suffolk County Community College will welcome new and prospective students to open house on Sunday, November 9, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Open House will take place at all three of the college's campuses: the Ammerman Campus in Selden, the Michael J. Grant Campus in Brentwood and the Eastern Campus in Riverhead, as well as the Culinary Arts Center in Riverhead.
Jennifer Smith, a Suffolk County Community College student from Brentwood, NY, is among the 220 Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) members named a 2025 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar and will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
Suffolk County Community College has been awarded a federal TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) grant that provides $348,514 annually for a total of $1.7 million over the five-year cycle. This grant helps support 324 low-income, first-generation, and disabled students at the largest community college in the State University of New York (SUNY) system.
The Suffolk Community College Foundation will host its 41st Annual Golf Classic on Monday, October 20, at the prestigious Sebonack Golf Club, 405 Sebonac Road, Southampton, NY. The event itself is sold out, however, a limited number of sponsorship opportunities remain available. Proceeds from the event will support student scholarships and academic programs at Suffolk County Community College.
