Step 1:Associate Degree

SUNY Suffolk

The first step in the Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) track is to earn one of the following associate degrees at Suffolk:

Liberal Arts and Sciences:
Science - Biology A.S.
OR Liberal Arts and Sciences:
Science - Chemistry A.S.
OR Liberal Arts and Sciences:
General Studies A.A.
OR Veterinary Science
Technology A.A.S.


Step 2:Bachelor's Degree

After earning a qualified associate degree at Suffolk, students may transfer to one of the following institutions for an additional two years to complete a bachelor's degree.

Brooklyn College
College of Staten Island
Hunter College
Mercy University NY
Molloy University Preferred School for DVM Track
St. Francis College
St. John's University
SUNY Old Westbury

Students must complete the bachelor's program with a 3.4 GPA or higher.


Step 3:Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

Once the bachelor's degree has been completed, students may transfer to St. George's University in Grenada to enter the four-year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program.

St. George's University boasts a 10-to-1 student-faculty ratio and 89% of their students have passed the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE) over the past five years.
