Bridgehampton Artist Hector Leonardi Exhibit at Suffolk County Community College


Hector Leonardi: Color Passages, an exhibit of paintings by Bridgehampton artist Hector Leonardi, a master of color, whose five-foot-high textured canvases contain lush cobalt blues or reds that create painterly filigrees that allow soft yellows and oranges to peek, will be on display at the Suffolk County Community College Eastern Campus' Lyceum Gallery from January 23 through February 25, 2023.

Suffolk County Community College Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Deputy Title IX Coordinator Dr. Edward Martinez has been named by the State University of New York (SUNY) as one of nine emerging Hispanic/Latinx leaders selected for the 2023 Hispanic Leadership Institute (HLI) class - the sixth class since the SUNY program began in 2018.

Student Art Exhibit at Suffolk's Eastern Campus Opens December 2


A student art exhibit highlighting the exceptional work created by Suffolk County Community College students in the college's applied arts programs opens on December 2 on Suffolk's Eastern Campus in Riverhead and will run through December 19. An opening reception will be held on Wednesday, December 7 from 4 to 6 p.m.

Suffolk County Community College's Solar Installer Certificate Program recently graduated an inaugural class of 13 certified installers including a father and son team - Gabriel and Nicholas Gomez.

New Community College Scholarship Program Announced by LIPA


The new LIPA Community College Scholarship Program is an important workforce development initiative designed to help bridge the historical gap between underserved communities and the professional and educational skills needed for the next generation of workers. This program provides full funding for ten full-time, two-year scholarships for low-to moderate-income students planning to attend Nassau Community College or Suffolk County Community College.
