Congressman Lee Zeldin Joins President McKay and Student Veterans at New Veterans Resource Center

U.S. Rep. Lee Zeldin, second from left, joined Suffolk County Community College President Dr. Shaun L. McKay at our Eastern Campus for  a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Veterans Resource Center.

The center will have staff  as well as student veteran work study students and community resources to serve our student veteran population.  The College will be establishing a Veterans Resource Center on each campus in the coming weeks.

Congressman Zeldin also discussed bringing the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs VetSuccess on Campus program to Suffolk. The VetSuccess on Campus (VSOC) program aims to help Veterans, Servicemembers, and their qualified dependents succeed and thrive through a coordinated delivery of on-campus benefits assistance and counseling, leading to completion of their education and preparing them to enter the labor market with viable careers. Suffolk County Community College has more than 700 declared veterans enrolled in its programs. Suffolk County is home to the most veterans in New York State.
