It’s Now the Bridgehampton National Bank / Suffolk Community College Golf Classic Thanks to BNB’s Generous Donation to College Foundation

The Suffolk Community College Foundation Annual Golf Classic is renamed the Bridgehampton National Bank / Suffolk Community College Golf Classic thanks to a generous sponsorship donation from Bridgehampton National Bank (BNB), both the bank and college announced today.

Kevin M. O’Connor, president and chief executive officer of BNB and a Suffolk County Community College graduate (’82) was previously named as the event’s honoree.

“Our investment in Suffolk County Community College is an investment not only in education, but in the future of Long Island. This is where I got my start and I appreciate that education every day.  I encourage more of our best and brightest students to choose Suffolk, and make a career on Long Island. BNB is committed to the success of local business and that starts with the next generation,” O'Connor said.

“Bridgehampton National Bank and Kevin O’Connor are enthusiastic supporters of our college and this major foundation event. We are honored by BNB’s support of the Foundation and our college,” said Dr. Shaun L. McKay, president of Suffolk County Community College. “Our students and the residents of Suffolk County directly benefit from BNB’s presence in our county,” McKay said, “and this is another example of how BNB demonstrates its devotion to the community at large.”

The Bridgehampton National Bank / Suffolk Community College Golf Classic will also feature opportunities to win unique prizes.

Your golf drive might not be the only “drive” you can show off thanks to  Ferrari-Maserati of Long Island who has generously donated a hole-in-one prize of a new Maserati for the Suffolk Community College Foundation 33rd Annual Golf Classic on August 22.

A 2016 Maserati Ghibli will be driven away by a lucky golfer if he or she can score a hole-in-one on the fourth hole of the Hamlet Golf and Country Club in Commack.

Not a golfer? Support the college by attending the awards reception and dinner.
The reception and dinner will provide another opportunity to drive a sleek Italian sports car.

A Maserati Weekend experience will be auctioned along with dozens of other prizes during the dinner hour.

The proceeds from the Bridgehampton National Bank / Suffolk Community College Golf Classic will support need and merit-based scholarships, emergency student loans and quality academic enrichment programs for Suffolk County Community College students.

“Last year, more than 500 students were helped by more than $650,000 in aid from the Suffolk Community College Foundation,” said Dr. Sylvia A. Diaz, executive director of the Suffolk Community College Foundation.

The Classic will tee-off on Monday, August 22, 2016 at the Hamlet Golf and Country Club in Commack.  Registration includes 18 holes of golf, access to the driving range and putting green, golf cart, lunch, a cocktail reception and a celebratory dinner featuring raffle drawings, auction and awards ceremony.

Early registration is $300 per golfer and $1,100 for a foursome.
