Suffolk County Community College’s Flecker Gallery is pleased to announce Anthems, Highways, & Cosmic Roadtrips, a solo exhibition of recent paintings by visiting artist Fred Fleisher. The exhibition will run from November 13 through December 18, 2025, at the Flecker Gallery, located in the Southampton Building on the Ammerman Campus in Selden.

The exhibition will open on Thursday, November 13, with an Artist Talk at 2:00 p.m., followed by an Opening Reception that will continue through 5:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served, and all are welcome to attend.

A Brooklyn-based contemporary artist and U.S. Army veteran, Fred Fleisher creates vivid, dreamlike works that blur the line between fantasy and reality. His paintings merge pop-cultural imagery with saturated, surreal landscapes that unfold like an imaginative American road trip—inviting viewers into a world where memory, humor, and myth converge.

Fleisher’s practice spans painting, sculpture, installation, and time-based media, often reinterpreting the familiar narratives of consumer culture. Currently an Associate Professor of Art at SUNY Old Westbury, Fleisher holds an MFA from Queens College and both a BFA in Painting and Drawing and a B.S. in Art Education from Penn State University. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, with solo shows in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Hudson (NY), Berlin, and Chicago. He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions and served as a lead curator for the SPRING/BREAK Art Show in Los Angeles.

An exhibition catalog featuring an essay by Chris Bors will accompany the show.

Gallery Hours:
Monday – Thursday: 10:00 – 4:00 p.m. and by appointment
