Suffolk’s Albert Dawson Presented With Prestigious Engineering Educator of the Year Award

Suffolk County Community College Engineering Science and Technology Department Associate Professor Albert T. Dawson, P.E., ENV SP, FITE has been awarded the prestigious 2019 Engineering Educator of the Year award by the Long Island Chapter of the New York State Society of Professional Engineers.  

The society recognizes several professional engineers each year for various exemplary achievements in the field of engineering and engineering education. 

Dawson was lauded for “exemplary professional performance and significant contributions to the engineering profession and the Society of Professional Engineers.”

Dawson, in accepting the award related how important it is to have national organizations to recognize education.  “I am lucky to have the opportunity to make an impact on a young people’s lives,” Dawson said.

More than one hundred engineering design professionals, and executive management of the most prestigious Long Island engineering firms, as well as the commissioners from both Nassau and Suffolk Department of Public works attended the June 12 event.
