The stars aligned for Class of 2015 Suffolk County Community College graduates Chris Bursztyn and Alexa Jarrard of Centereach who met at Suffolk during an astronomy class group project.  The couple got engaged in the College’s Ammerman Campus planetarium last Friday.

“Alexa always liked astronomy and finds the stars to be an amazing sight,” Bursztyn said, adding “we got off to a rocky start when we were put in a group together and I volunteered her to present our group project.”

The now engaged couple graduated Suffolk and continued their education at Stony Brook University. As chance would have it, they had one class together each semester until they both graduated. Bursztyn said the pair became close friends and started dating in 2017 … and the rest as they say, was, well, written in the stars.
