The Retirees Association of Suffolk Community College (RASCC) recently issued Legacy Fellowship Grants that will support two projects for the college. These projects will enhance the educational experience for students. The accepted projects are in the areas of Visual Arts and Academic Support Services and each project will receive $1,000.

Steamroller Printmaking Project
Michael Levine, Instructor of Art, received a Legacy Fellowship Grant to support a large-scale collaborative printmaking project on the Michael J. Grant Campus. Visual art students will design and carve oversized woodcuts and participate in a public “steamroller printing” event at the end of the spring semester, bringing together students, faculty, staff, and community members for a unique hands-on art experience.

RESTART Program
Natasha McCombs, Assistant Director of the Academic Success & Tutoring Center, received a Legacy Fellowship Grant to launch the RESTART Program, a new academic renewal initiative that provides structured support for students facing academic dismissal or academic warning. Funding will supply student resource booklets and materials for successful program participants, enhancing academic skills, engagement, and retention.

“Suffolk is grateful to the RASCC for supporting both artistic innovation and student success,” said Dr. Edward Bonahue, President. “These grants help strengthen programs that directly enrich our campus community.”
