Earn College Credit with CLEP

The College-Level Examination Program® (CLEP) helps you receive college credit for what you already know, for a fraction of the cost of a college course.

The College Board's College-Level Examination Program® (CLEP) is a credit-by-examination program. These exams allow individuals to demonstrate their mastery of college-level material in introductory subjects while earning college credit. Individuals can earn credit by receiving qualifying scores on any of the 34 examinations.

The College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) examinations are administered on the Ammerman Campus in Selden, NY, Grant Campus in Brentwood, NY and Eastern Campus in Riverhead, NY.

When registering for the CLEP exam, if a student includes Suffolk County Community College as one of their two scores, their results are automatically sent to Suffolk’s Transfer Office after completion of the exam. Please allow 3-4 weeks for score delivery and an additional 7-14 business days for credit evaluation and posting to the student’s account. Processing times vary depending on volume.

Students who pass a CLEP exam, will need to matriculate into a degree or certificate program if they want the credits to be added to a Suffolk County Community College transcript.
