A $97 CLEP fee is paid directly to College Board when you register for a CLEP Exam.

Register for a CLEP exam at Suffolk County Community College
Proctor Fee
A $44 proctor fee is paid to Suffolk County Community College.
- This $44 fee is non-refundable and reserves your seat in a test session.
- Payable by money order* only to “Suffolk County Community College”.
- No cash, credit or debit cards are accepted.
- This fee can be submitted along with your registration form to Suffolk, or it can be paid in-person on the day of the test.
*Money orders can be found at U.S. Post Office locations, drug stores, grocery stores and other retailers like Walmart or Target. Call ahead to confirm availability. Money orders generally cost between $1-$2 and may require photo ID.
Course Prep to Get CLEP for Free
Waiver of the CLEP exam fee and reimbursement of the proctor fee can be obtained by completing and passing the relevant course at Modern States.
After Completing Modern States Course:
When registering for your CLEP exam via the CLEP website, use this link to enter your voucher code from Modern States.
- You will pay the proctor fee via Money Order separately during the time of the exam.
- Complete the reimbursement form for the proctor fee.
