Study Culinary Arts in the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. This program is offered to students in the Suffolk County Community College Culinary Arts/Hospitality curriculum ONLY. Included in the program are Culinary, Baking and hospitality classes, as well as an internship at a Florentine restaurant/bakery/hotel. Excursions to Parma, Modena, Lucca will be offered.

CUL 240 - Culinary Arts Internship

HRM 240 - Hotel and Resort Management Internship

Total program cost is $4,950 per student (does NOT include airfare, tuition and Wi-Fi access in the apartment in Florence).

  • Week one is spent traveling from Rome through Western Italy immersed in the culture and history of this amazing country. Each day is spent visiting unique historic cultural, and artistic sites, many off the beaten path of typical tourists.

  • Program fee includes housing in a shared hotel room/apartment for 2, 3 & 4-weeks, food for culinary/baking classes, hand-outs for classes and workshops, one Apicius chef jacket for culinary/baking students, one logo’d tee shirt for Hotel students, all scheduled trips per itineraries, Special Workshops on Italian Wines and Molecular Gastronomy for culinary/baking students and 15 unit food vouchers to GONZO Restaurant and Fedora Bakery (3-4 meals).

Please note if your check is returned for any reason, you will be charged an additional $35 fee.         

Payment Schedule:

January 24th, 2018 – $1,750
(if you are interested in single room occupancy,
please submit additional check for $300)

February 19th, 2018 – $1,600

March 19th, 2018 – $1,550

Refund Policy:

Upon receiving an official written confirmation of a student’s intention to cancel participation in the program (written confirmation to be sent to professor Wood), the following refund schedule will apply:

    Receipt of official written cancellation on or before 1/24/18 – 2/19/18   75% refund 
  Receipt of official written cancellation on or before 2/20/18 – 3/19/18   50% refund
  Receipt of official written cancellation after 3/19/18    0% refund

Certain fees are nonrefundable at anytime, these fees include: application fee ($250), returned check fee ($35), and airfare.
